My Story
In 2003 after suffering for years with back pain from a car crash, I thought that the physical experience of yoga was what I needed to finally heal, but as time went by I began to realize that so much of my pain came from past and present stress and the issues were literally 'in my tissues'. After years of practicing in various studios, I came to appreciate the mind-body-breath connection that yoga offers and the freedom it has given me to live life to the fullest. In 2020 when we all got a little forced downtime I completed my first 200-hour training, while I learned a lot in this class, it was (of course) online and I missed the hands-on/in-person aspect of training so I took an additional 200 hour training in person 2021. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and also am certified in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga of 12 Step Recovery.

As an Adult Child of an Alcoholic and recovering Codependent I am excited to bring the somatic (relating to the body) practice of yoga to the cognitive (relating to the mind) practice of the 12 Steps. My hope and prayer is that through yoga the addict will better be able to address the physical, mental and spiritual disease of addiction. I truly believe that the issues really do live in our tissues, and adding yoga to your healing journey will help integrate your body, mind, breath and spirit.

Off the mat, I love hiking with my red-heeler Ruby, reading, cooking, jumping in the lake, and spending time with family and friends.
